Jewelia's Theory on why some people were attacked.

<Garrett spoke>:

Esmerelda coughs and nearly chokes as she was sipping her wine. She continues to cough and in increasing tempo and volume until Dryfton begins to slowly beat on her back with an open palm.

"My my dear. That is not the way I wanted that to come out."

Everyone looks to Jewelia as she makes this statement.

As Esmerelda stops coughing with eyes watering she too looks to Jewelia.

"My dearest Esmerelda. I told you when I came to you yesterday morn that I had information that you were on a short list to be assassinated or kidnapped did I not but we did not go into details. I should have then but I felt it would be too painful for you."

"For this I am sorry I should have been more forthcoming."

"It all was a part of my earlier theory on why some of were being attacked. I still can not explain why our latest guests have been so targetted but I am quite confident that I had once found the thread for the other attacks."

"Though there are three of us still her ein this room who would have fallen under those earlier assumptions.

"I have found a dozen or more. Well not found but found evidence and results of numerous divinations and contacting of denizens of other planes."

"The four of us. Ollie, Jewelia, Esmeralda (De'Winter) and Talin are all that remain alive and free from those whom I have managed to trace down."

"There was a theme. It is summed up in the answer to one of mine and Jeb's earlier divinations. I refer to part of one of those divinations."

"How well do you know your Cousin dear. I fear he has run afoul of dangerous friends. Dangerous and dark friends."

"I am oft in Neverwinter as a member of the Order Arcane and a supplier of that cities blast globes from my laboratory."

"And I make a point to know who is working what magics around the Realms. A hobby of mine you might say though it has gotten me into a couple of awkward places to know too much about those who do not wish it to be known."

"Your family has a dark streak or so rumors say and your cousin the darkest of them all having fallen into the hands of Bane and his dark priests. He is a priest of no small skill though he keeps this secret well hidden as he furthers your families business interests."

"I am sorry if this comes as a shock to you. But I believe your cousin would see you dead. Offered in some dark sacrifice for his own personal gains."

Jewelia pauses and takes a slow sip of feywine from her glass.

"As would my mother. Ollie's mother. And Talin's Uncle."

"I know who was seeking our deaths and that they were members of this Cabal."

Talin and Ollie both seem unshocked by this news and Esmerelda is all but fainting as she tries to absorb it all. Dryfton pours her a glass of wine and hands it to her.

She turns to look to Garret who had brought this point up.

"But I simply do not know enough about you as to be honest I had not even heard of most of your names before yestersday to know why they are after you."
