Twisted
Madness
Twisted madness winds its way
Towards a home where it can stay
Full of sorrow
Left for pick up tomorrow
Broken heart done in today.
Slowly through the tears of life
Fraught with sorrow, years of strife
Madness takes aim
And stakes it's claim
By the wielding of the knife.
She tries to turn, she tries to run
Afraid of what she will become
Is it too late?
Has she met her fate?
Are she and madness now one?
Screechingly the wheel of life stops
Noone gets on, noone gets off
Round and round
Without touching the ground
Grinding on like a top.
Screams abound in this fragile home
Desperately trying to atone.
But they only serve
To shatter her nerve
When she's left all alone.
Somewhere deep within this place
Lies the soul with the human face
Left too long
Without a song
Will see the dying of its race.
She sometimes reaches out to see
Then retracts despairingly
Wailing at
The simple fact
What she wants, can never be.
Trapped within, her haunting eyes
See through the feeble attempts to lie
Tears do spill
As they sometimes will
Her pain and anguish she cannot disguise.
Heavy heart, she turns and lets go
Madness and sadness start to flow
Roughly reaching
Her eyes beseeching
But it's too late and she knows.
Twisted madness winds its way
Towards a home where it can stay
Full of sorrow
Left for pick up tomorrow
Broken heart done in today.
