Poetry is an art form

Poetry is an art form, in the highest sense,
It can rhyme or not, has different tense.
It can even be some strange sort of freeform prose in a strange

  sort of obscure and
    me-
-and-
    -ering
way...

It can be funny or sad,
Make you think, make you mad,
It can be full of love,
or just full of hate.

Sometimes it can have no meaning.
Fish.

It can express beliefs,
philosophies and what people feel.
It can be fiction or truth,
Designed to hurt or to heal.

It can prophecies, foretell,
Proselytise to the unclean
Condemn all to hell,
Tell what is foreseen.

Whatever the cause, the reason, the source,
Whatever it is that makes one choose the course,
It's still poetry, and still beautiful to see...
...In the eyes of the beholder, that is you, not me.
