Whale Song

The surface swells, breaks and spills
off the back of a mind.
With a snort, water spurts, leaps and fills
the ocean it left behind.

The great whale plunges, dives so deep
in the water of the sea,
But thoughts like water, from eyes that weep
tears for you and me.

The whale can see, beyond the sky
of it's water domain,
the poor human existence, and asks "why
do they not refrain?"

For Hunters come, across the sea
from lands both far and wide.
And hunt the wise whale, it cannot flee
the barbs that pierce it's hide.

For strange man reasons, profit and greed
for easy, slow moving prey,
The Hunter reels it in, he does not heed
what the whale has to say.

The whale cries out, gasps then sings
it's song of pain and pity.
It knows the joy, freedom and things
beyond a human city.

It wishes it could tell, make us know
the enlightenment it holds.
And tell us just how, we should go
about making perfect life moulds.

For the whale knows, much better than
we understand the wrong.
It knows how we should act, if we can
only listen to the whale song.
